Sometimes simply knowing someone is there is enough.
Several years ago, while caring for a loved one through a devastating neurological illness, my world became very small.
Life was increasingly isolated. KEXP reminded me that the world was still there—people were still creating, discovering music and showing up for one another.
Sometimes a DJ would say my name on the air.
Sometimes someone simply replied to an email with hello!
Those moments lasted only seconds, but to me, they were beacons.
They reminded me that someone knew I was out there—and that I wasn’t completely alone.
You never know who is listening or what someone is carrying.
Sometimes a song, a familiar voice or a simple hello is enough to help someone keep going.
